Margot Parker, MS MFT Registered Intern #94383 (805) 244-5351 Email Me
Margot Parker, MS is a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) Registered Intern at The New Beginnings Center where she is supervised by Susan Richter, LMFT. She earned her Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in midlife transition and mindfulness based therapy from California State University, Northridge.
Before training to become a therapist, I worked in the field of education as a teacher and an educational consultant. Although I enjoyed teaching and working with all age groups, one of my favorite populations was the homeschool community because of the opportunity to work with the whole family to create an educational program that supported their children’s learning style. As an MFT intern, I draw upon my experience with families, teens and children to work therapeutically with families seeking to create a more harmonious and nurturing family dynamic. I also work with couples and I am particularly interested in helping both partners discover their unmet needs and the old hurts that are blocking their ability to feel deeply loved by the other.
I also work at the Camarillo Hospice where I counsel families and individuals who are suffering from the loss of a loved one. Grieving can be an arduous journey. I am honored to companion my clients as they move from the reality of their loss to an emotional place where they can reinvest in life without their loved one.
In addition to seeing individual clients and families, I lead a trauma-sensitive yoga group and co-lead a dialectical behavior therapy group with Susan Richter.
