Hello. I invite you to read more about me here. My life mission is to foster greater embodied peace, health and well-being one individual at a time through sharing tools for mindful living. Early on, I thought that I might become a therapist, but I realized that my passion lay more in teaching and coaching. In this respect, I honor the boundaries. Knowing your health challenges assists me to better serve you, but my approach is not diagnostic or treatment oriented. Rather it is a sharing of time tested mindful living tools to provide you with daily living practices for greater well-being. Life is a continual process of change. Whatever challenges may be present we can learn to live with them in a more joyful, creative, and life affirming way.
My personal journey with injuries, anxiety, and lack of self-acceptance, and my greatest desire to love and accept myself as a unique expression have led me to study, practice, and share these mindful living practices. I provide attentional practices such as meditation, conscious movement practices like yoga and chi gong, breathing and simple chanting techniques along with holistic lifestyle education. My studies have led me to a cross-cultural approach. I share practices that I have found recorded across many cultures and that are reported to improve well-being. Scientific studies are now confirming these reports.
My experience as a meditation, yoga and chi gong instructor is broad. I have practiced and studied for over 20 years. I work in a gentle way that honors the body and breath as wise friends that guide us how deep to go. Over the past 18 years, I have facilitated classes, seminars, public presentations, and retreats offering my services to hospital wellness programs, holistic health centers, community centers, religious/spiritual organizations, corporations, schools, and private groups and individuals.
I have studied with several master teachers, and especially appreciate being able to share:
Mindfulness based practices which show where and how to focus attention
Chi-gong practices that originated in Asian Taoist cultures and Yoga practices that originated in India that view illness as starting in our physiology or energy system (bioelectric field) and that have molded physical exercises and breathing techniques to help clear these blockages
Insights from yoga and chi gong schools that recognize affirmative statements, specific sounds, and positive visualizations as a way to bring greater health, relaxation and peace to the body, mind, and spirit.
For the last 3 years as a way to support clients and others who are interested, I have published a free inspirational monthly e-newsletter that I call Pathways to Peace. This newsletter includes daily practices to provide ongoing suggestions to keep people motivated to walk their talk—to apply healthy mindful lifestyle tips to their daily lives until they become habit. If you want to receive this newsletter you may sign up on my website (look for the purple “sign up now” button): BobbiSRudin.com
I integrate creative process techniques especially creative writing and active listening exercises in my special events and in my private health coaching practice. In this regard, I am a certified holistic health coach and work with a small number of private clients to support them to establish a diet and lifestyle that is ideal for them including helping them establish a daily meditative practice.
I also work part-time providing instructional assistance and other behavioral support for special needs children within the Conejo Valley Unified School District (CVUSD). I have been a part of CVUSD since 2008.
Along with movement, I love to write, read, and perform poetry and spoken word, am a published poet and movement artist, and spend time on the open microphone circuit in Southern California along with coordinating a quarterly open microphone event for sharing creative expression in Thousand Oaks.
